CLA 1002 Professional Development for Liberal Arts Majors (1 s.h.): Designed to help students research the transferability of skills they have acquired in the liberal arts, with an emphasis on the value of these skills in the marketplace. Students learn how to effectively seek internship and career opportunities, communicate professionally, develop an application-ready CV, and prepare for networking and professional interviews. Since most law schools require applicants to submit the law school aptitude test score, which is regularly administered by the Law Admissions Department, students who wish to study law should consult with the pre-legal advisor prior to the year of graduation to determine whether the school they wish to apply to requires such a test and to determine dates. on which these tests are carried out. Prospective law students should consult with the pre-legal advisor regarding admission requirements to law school, support for law school scholarships, and opportunities in the legal profession. In order to comply with legal requirements, prospective law students should consult with pre-legal counsel at the beginning of their final year regarding the legal requirements for practicing law in the state where the student wishes to study and practice. Please contact Chris Wolfgang at chris.wolfgang@temple.edu for more information. Several departments in the College of Liberal Arts offer a track of honor for their majors. Students should review the report card information listed under each major for information on eligibility, specific program requirements, and contacts. For more information on study abroad options, visit the Office of Foreign Education and Overseas Campes, 200 Tuttleman Learning Centers or studyabroad.temple.edu. 120 Gladfelter Hall 1115 Polett Drive 215-204-7971 claaac@temple.edu Cate Almon, Associate Director 215-204-2212 calmon@temple.edu Students must take both courses to meet their general educational requirements. During the junior and senior years, any College of Liberal Arts student who has a good reputation and takes at least 12 semester hours can take a course on a credit/non-credit basis each semester, except for courses that count toward major, minor, GenEd or distribution requirements. Applications must be submitted during the first two weeks of a course in the fall or spring semester and during the first three days of a first or second summer event at the Center for Student Advisory and Continuing Education.

A course specific to a student`s major subject cannot be used to satisfy general education. There are exceptions to this rule for quantitative reading and science requirements for students studying traditional sciences (e.g., biology, chemistry, biochemistry). In addition, a course cannot be used to meet more than one requirement, except in the case of the mosaic requirement (see section on mosaic requirements). The essential requirements depend on the actual semester of their declaration. The Centre for Consultative and Continuing Education of Students is responsible for this task and informs the student by email. All departments in the College of Liberal Arts have appointed academic advisors, undergraduate chairs, or integrated professional advisors with whom students can discuss the requirements of their major, minor, and/or certificate programs. Chris Wolfgang, M.A. Assistant Dean of Student Services cwolfgan@temple.edu Phi Alpha Delta was founded „to promote the ideals of freedom and equal justice before the law; promote excellence in science; inspire the virtues of compassion and courage; promote integrity and expertise; promote the well-being of its members; and to promote their moral, intellectual and cultural progress”. The proposed core program may include courses outside the College of Liberal Arts, but at least 24 semester-hours must be in graduate courses in humanities or science. The student`s proposal must be sponsored by two faculty members from different departments, at least one of whom must be in the College of Liberal Arts. Program approval must be obtained from the College of Liberal Arts Center for Academic Advice and Professional Development prior to the start of the last 60 hours of semester study.
